How do you roll waffle cones and bowls?

Jun 18, 2024

A variety of waffle molds are available to help you shape your freshly cooked waffles into bowls, boats, and cones.

Commercial waffle bowl makers and waffle boat makers are made of a mold and stamp; the warm, cooked waffle is draped across the mold and gently tamped down, forming it into a convex shape with a flat bottom and raised edges. Once cool, the waffle holds that shape, enabling users to fill it with ice cream, toppings, and sauce.

Best Ice Cream Cone Maker

To roll a waffle cone, it's best to use a waffle cone roller. The waffle, while still hot and pliable, is wrapped around the cone-shaped mandrel, then pressed into the waffle cone mold, shaping the waffle into a smooth conical shape as it cools and hardens. Once it's cooled the cone has a stiff, crispy texture for holding soft food such as ice cream, custard, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce.
