Waffle cones are iced or filled, shaped like a traditional waffle. They are formed from a batter poured into a special waffle maker to create a distinctive pattern. Waffle cones are easier to make at home than you think, and the results are well worth the effort. Waffle cones can serve all desserts, from ice cream to chocolate fudge. To create unique appetizers, they can also be filled with savory ingredients, like seafood or cheese. They are much sturdier than traditional paper or sugar cones and can be filled with everything from ice cream to frozen yogurt. Most recipes suggest using a Belgian or French-style waffle iron, but you can also make waffles in a regular iron if you prefer.
Waffle cones are a great way to indulge in your favorite frozen treats without sacrificing your diet. You can make waffle cones from gluten-free flour, almond or coconut flour.
What you'll need:
- Two cups of flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- Two eggs, beaten
- One tablespoon of olive oil
- One cup of almond milk or other non-dairy milk.
Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk together the eggs, oil, and non-dairy milk separately. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until clumpy and no dry spots remain. Preheat your waffle iron and grease with cooking spray or non-stick spray. Pour the batter into the waffle iron and close the lid. Cook until golden brown and crispy. Remove from heat. Let cool for 5 minutes before cutting into waffles.
